NO ONE SETTLES FOR THE MIDDLE WHEN THE TOP IS VACANT. By Francis Akhigbe

The general Elections in Nigeria are scheduled as from February, 2023.

In Edo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) have settled for the Candidates that will slug it out with other candidates from the other Political Parties for the elective Offices ranging from the State House of Assembly to the National Assembly excluding the gubernatorial office that will come up in 2024 when the tenure of the incumbent Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki will elapse.

In Edo Central Senatorial District, the most favoured candidate to win the House of Representatives election in Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency, Dcn. Patrick Akhimien Idiake, his Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) have put in place all the political machineries to ensure that the support and acceptance they enjoy now from the Electorates across all political divides continue to gather more momentum till the election proper.

In Edo Central Senatorial District, especially in the Federal Constituency of Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Local Government Areas, Idiake's name is on the lips of the Electorates like the 'Buga' song  of Kizz Daniel.

Those that already know Idiake, the solid and calculated son of Esan land, no matter the political affiliation and those that have heard much about his antecedents are already saying "IDIAKE IS THE ANSWER" to the  under development in Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency come 2023.

Yours sincerely, recently was in Amahor in Igueben Local Government Area. I overheard some young men discussing politics, saying that the election must be Idiake for the House of Representatives. One of them asked a question if they knew anything about Idiake outside politics especially his background. Those young men might not know that I heard what they were saying because I did not focus on them.

But that question the young man asked about Idiake's background without getting an answer became a reoccurring decimal in my mind. Many people might be asking the same question without getting an answer. I then decided that apart from the political background of the man, Dcn. Patrick Idiake, that the people have wholeheartedly made up their minds to vote in 2023, it is absolutely not out of place to bring his Resume to the public domain for the people with particular reference to the Electorates  and like those young men at Amahor to know about him so that their support for him will continue to soar higher and higher.

WHO IS DCN. PATRICK AKHIMIEN IDIAKE?

Dcn. Patrick Akhimien Idiake was born in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State to the family of Mr.and Mrs. Vincent Idiake of Illeh Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

He had a humble beginning. He is not the kind that could be described as a child born with a golden spoon. But his parents knew the value of Education hence they took it as a bond to ensure that their children got the full dose of it (Education).

His growing up started at Auchi where he attended Akpekpe Model Primary School, Auchi and got his Primary School Leaving Certificate. He gained admission to Our Lady of Fatima College, Auchi and later moved to Ihevbe Grammar School, Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State and came out in flying colours in the West African School Certificate Examination ( WASCE)

Thereafter,  he sought and gained admission to study Accountancy at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi. After his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accountancy, he worked with Akokotu Okuda and Co., a firm of Chartered Accountants in Benin City, Edo State in 1991. 

He later went back to the same Institution for his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy where he graduated as the best student in his Department in 1996.

He did his National Youth Service Corps NYSC) with Eleme Petro Chemicals in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

After his National Youth Service, he was employed as an Accountant by Japul Oil and Gas Limited, an Oil Servicing Company based in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

In the year 2000, he left the Company and moved to Admiral Overseas Nigeria Limited, one of the foremost multi-billionaire Fishing Companies in Lagos State as Finance and Administration Manager. There he rose to become the Finance Controller and later Consultant.

Continuing his Educational pursuit, he proceeded to the Lagos State University where he obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) in 2004.

Dcn. Patrick Akhimien Idiake is a Principal Partner of Idiake Patrick and Co., a reputable Firm of Chartered Accountants in Lagos and also the Chief Executive of Patsquare Farms Limited.

He is a Forensic Accountant, the first of such in Nigeria.

He is a Taxation Consultant to the Lagos State Government and was also a Forensic Auditor to Edo State Government.

He is a fellow of several Professional Bodies in Nigeria and beyond.  Some of such Organisations include Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), the Institute of Cost Management of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Forensic Accountants of Nigeria (CFA).

As a gentleman who believes in humanitarian services, he had at various times helped many Organizations, Professional Bodies and numerous students through Bursaries and Scholarships. This humanitarian gestures have given him recognition by these Organisations.

He is currently the Grand Patron of Edo Central Market Women Association and the Grand Patron of Esan Recreation Club, Ekpoma.

He also got an  Award from the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) in recognition of his humanitarian services to the Country in the Health Sector. 

His desire to serve humanity and his people made him veered into Politics. He is a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In 2011, he was a Contestant  in the Party primaries to represent Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency of Edo Central Senatorial District in the House of Representatives. But as a result of the adoption of Consensus by the Party to pick the candidates, he was prevailed on to step down for another Aspirant. As a loyal Party member, he obeyed without raising an eyebrow.

In 2014, he narrowly lost the Party Primary.

In 2019, he had a landslide victory in the Party Primary over his co- contestants to become the APC Candidate in the House of Representatives election for Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency. He lost the election to intrigues and manipulations. 

In May, 2022, he contested the Party Primary for the same Federal Constituency and overwhelmingly won. He is currently the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 House of Representatives election.

Dcn. Patrick Akhimien Idiake is a devout Christian, he is happily married to Mrs. Patience Idiake and they are blessed with lovely children.
